Notes for Jordan Foliot Lord Foliot
Of Gressenhall, etc. How did he come by the Gressinghall manor? It was owned, I believe, by Margery de Gressinghall who m. (1) Osmund Stuteville and (2) Wm. de Huntingfield. Osmund Stuteville changed his name to Skipwith according to DNB, though not in Keats-Rohan's Domesday Descendants. Margery and Osmund certainly had a son William. Clay in his early Yorkshire Families p. 86 gives a currently credible account of this descent.
