Misc Gen et Her: Major in H.E.I.C.S. Took the name and arms of Waring in 1798 on the death of his grandmother Dorothy née Waring.  Distinguished in Parliament as the friend and defender of Warren Hastings (hence the name of his 1st son).

M.G.H then gives a genealogy of the Scotts back two generations and the Warings back to 1300 odd.
