Notes for Mary Ann Hill
Had 3 children, only one of whom survived infancy.
On FreeBMD the marriage info for Q3 of 1862 is only for Mary Anne Hill, there is no link to a husband; the district is Alderbury, vol 5a, p. 2013. However there is also an Arthur Philip Morris (note ‘Morris’) married in the same Alderbury district and in the same quarter with volume 5a and page 583.
In Q4 of 1900, an Arthur Philip Morres died aged 65 in Pancras dist, vol 1b, p. 67, the only one of that name between 1862 and 1910. Sounds like her husband.
In the 1881 census, she, aged 46, and her husband Arthur P Morres, aged 48 and thus b. c. 1833, were living at The Vicarage, Britford Wilts; there were no children with them but they had three servants: a cook, housemaid and gardener. He was down as born in Wokingham, Berks and thus a candidate for a relationship, son even, to Thomas Morres rector of that parish, who lived from 1798-1877.
