Note there are other de la Mares on this pedigree on CP VIII, opp p. 463.
I suspect that the Matthew de la Mare, father of Maud who married Peter de Montfort, is the Matthew who is this John's father.
The heir to his estates which went to his daughter Florence was a descendant of his brother William who had:
a son Matthew who had
a son Thomas who had
a son John, citizen of London, who was the heir. (CP X, 174, note (p)).
