Notes for John V Lestrange Lord Strange of Knockyn
In Bartrum’s table “Bleddyn ap Cynfyn 30” there is shown a daughter Hawis of a John le Strange of Knockin. Hawis is pencilled in as married in 1292 and dying in 1310. I conclude that in all likelihood she is the daughter of this John V Lestrange and Alienore de Somery; it is tempting to insert her as the daughter of this marriage. Further Hawise married Gruffudd ap Gwenwynwyn and one of her granddaughter was Catrin who married Gilbert Pool, see Bartrum “Gwenweys 2(A,B) who is shown as the ancestor of the Pooles who ended up being executed by H VIII and are very ancestral to us P-Ls.
