Col Cromwell gives this Ralph several more ancestors, going back to the inevitable companion of The Conqueror.  CP gives him three generations of ancestors, starting with a Haldane of the time of Henry II.  K-R in DD shows Aldane, Ralph then Ralph all of Nottingham.
