He has been identified as the Roger II de Vautort, d. 1207, son of Reginald II de Vautort, feudal barons of Trematon, Cornwall.  See Sanders' Baronies, Trematon barony, pp. 90-1.  As such he would have a probable ancestor, Reginald I de Vautort in Domesday.

However CP only says he was Roger of Harberton, Devon, so I am not sure what this implies.  There is no correction to this in Vol XIV.
