Wife said to be Avice de Clare but cannot be traced.
Died a monk of Evesham.
Sheriff of Staffs: 1072/85.
Madan in his “The Gresleys of Drakelowe” says that this Robert had 131 manors. He also suggests that he was the father of Nigel de Stafford, a younger son and who clearly held Drakelow and is the first categoric ancestor of the Gresleys of Drakelowe. However Madan concedes that the evidence is not 100% and so I have not made Nigel de Stafford to be a son of this Robert.
