Was Robt de T. the same as he who married Joan, co-heir of Ralph FitzRandolf of Middleham? No but he was the son of this couple...
August 2006: John Ravilous on soc.gen.med has suggested that Simon and John were not her sons who dsp thus leaving Alice as sole heir, but the sons of Robert de Driby’s first marriage, also leaving Alice as sole heir. This enables John de Driby to appear to be the husband of Amy Gaveston. I await further details.
Later: Rosie Bevan says that John (at least) was in Joan Driby née Tateshall’s IPM as her son but dsp. (so could not have m. Amy).
Even later: John R. has reverted to the original, that both of Alice’s brothers dsp.
