In charge of York in 1068 but taken prisoner by Danes in 1069.
They had sons Gilbert, dvp, Robert (Chancellor 1153-4) and his heir Walter who succeeded him, and, as well as Emma, a dau. who m. Ivo de Grandmesnil and poss another who m. a Baldwin.
Distantly related to Queen Matilda.
