Notes for Alice Paynel
m. (1) Richard de Courcy (d.c. 1153), (2) Robert de Gand.
(There is a (to me) confusing mention of her and her husband in K-R's DD, p. 427.)
Notes for Robert de & Alice (Family)
C T Clay in his note to this charter in EYC VI, 170, says the charter proves that Robert’s marriage must have occurred before the death of Eustace, son of King Stephen which occurred in Aug 1153. Further, Alice’s first husband did not die until c. 1153. So it sounds as if this marriage was pretty close to 1153.
