Arms Generally notes for Sir Roger Hillary
Arms unknown, though there was once a statue of him in Walsall Church, copied by Dugdale and possibly with a shield of arms on same. No sign of this in Dugdale’s Antiquities of Warwickshire.
However ...
Fox-Davies’ Armorial families has a family of Langrishe of Knocktopher, co Kilkenny, who quartered first the Rochford arms and then some Hillary arms (Vol II, p. 1132, quarters 24 and 25). The Rochford arms are the same as those found by the College of Arms for my grandfather in c. 1927 and I can only conclude that the Hillary arms were precisely inherited by the marriage of Saher de Rochform with Joan Hillary, an heiress. The arms given by Fox-Davies are:
Sable, crusilly fitchee and three fleurs-de-lys argent.
Fox-Davies included that this arrangement was confirmed by the Ulster Office on 14th June 1889.
