Notes for James Hamilton
Eventual heir to his uncle James Hamilton, first son of Rev Hans and also heir to the last earl of Clanbrassil.
Ancestor of Marquess of Dufferin and Ava.
His will also mentions an unnamed sister who, from the name of her children, married a Fairlie and had a son and four daughters: James, Margaret, Jean, Rachel and Helen Fairlie. However I suspect the ‘sister’ was his wife’s sister who had married this Fairlie.
Geo Hamilton says he was over 60 at death.
