At marriage his surname is spelt ‘Phillpott’ - two ‘l’, no trailing ‘s’
All their children were registered with Phillpotts - two ‘l’s and a trailing ‘s’.
In 1851 it was Phillpott - two ‘l’s and possibly an ‘s’ at the end..
In 1861 its was clearly Phillpotts - two ‘l’s and a definite trailing ‘s’
In 1871, after his death, it was Philpotts - one ‘l’ and a trailing ‘s’.
Currently I have no choice between these.
His marriage is on FreeBMD and his name there is ‘Edward Coplestone Philpott’ instead of Burke’s ‘Esward Philpotts’. So I have changed his name and am re-doing the searches. But I sill cannot find anything that looks like his death.
