Burke's Ricketts article of 1871 - and, later, 1967 - gives this man as Robert Goodwin.
Dec 2001, TFPL: It is now appearing that he was, if anyone, Robert Goodin of Westmorland, Jamaica. As yet I am still searching for contemporary evidence of this.
TFPL, June 2002: I have finally got round to totally accepting Simon Ricketts' thesis that he was of the Goodin family of Jamaica. The supporting evidence is fairly strong particularly the will of his (highly probable) grandson William Ricketts of New York in which he refers to his cousin, George Goodin.
