Notes for Nicholas Bourke
In 1768 there was a Thomas Bourke, son of Nicholas Bourke of Clarendon, Jamiaca, armiger.  This Thomas was at Univ, Oxon and was a member of the Legislative assembly of Jamaica from 1781-1790.  Any connection?

The following unsubstantiated information might give a few leads:

“Edmund Fearon Bourke or Burke of Jamaica was the son of Nicholas Bourke of Corry, Co. Mayo & Jamaica, and Elizabeth Fearon of Jamaica. Elizabeth was the daughter of the Chief Justice of Jamaica (1736-1764), the Hon. Thomas Fearon of Teak Pen, Clarendon, Jamaica. Edmund married Mary Goodin of Jamaica, daughter of George Robert Goodin (1735-1799) of Llandilo, Westmoreland, Jamaica. He married the widow of George Ricketts another Jamaican planter. When George R Goodin died in 1799, the already wealthy Edmund inherited half of his estate. Edmund had two sisters Mary (Dennis) and Frances (Ricketts) who had issue.”

The Gentleman’s Magazine of 1835, vol 2, p. 47 has a footnote on him:

“This gentleman was a younger son of Edmund Bourke of Cornlaunagh in Ireland (son of Edmund Burke of Urcy, of the Mayo family), by Mary, daughter of Richard Arcedeckene, of Gortnemona in Ireland. He went out to Jamaica, where he married Elizabeth the daughter of Thomas Fearon, Chief justice of the island, and died in 1771, leaving several children.”
