Notes for Richer de Laigle
Ther is some confusion with this man. In Keats-Rohan;s Domesday Descendants, p. 284 there is both an article on Richer de Aquila who died in 1176 and on Matilda de Aquila, dau of a Richer de Laigle who died in 1085. The two Richers are grandfather and grandson, with Gilbert de Aquila in between.  The confusion is that Matilda appears in a book called Domesday desendants when her parents were Domesday Ancestors and her brother was a Domesday person.

Was he the Richer de Laigle who was son of Engenulf de Laigle who was at Hastings? If so, Richer died in 1084 (Camp).  Yes.

Apparently father of Gilbert, who was father of Marguerite de L'Aigle who was wife of Garcia Ramirez  (Garcia IV), king of Navarre, and ancestor of Eleanor of Castile (wife of Ed I), Isabella of France (wife of Ed II) and Philippa of Hainault (wife of Ed III).
