Notes for John de Bohun Earl of Hereford
m. (2) Margaret Basset, dau, CP relates, of Ralph B., 2nd baron, and Joan de Grey, dau of John, ld Grey of Wilton. But this does not make much sense. Elsewhere John Stafford married a Margaret B. who then m. (2) a John Pype but nowhere does it say that she also m. John Bohun. However CP XIV states that the latter Margaret Basset was the dau. of Ralph, 1st lord Basset; so it may well be that John Bohun married Margaret of Ralph, 2nd lord Basset. Further the IPM on the childless Ralph Basset, 3rd baron. does not mention such a marriage, possibly because there were no children.
