Later members of his family bore the arms Per pale Azure and Gules, 3 chevrons voided counterchanged Gules and Azure (Dir Brit Arms, vol 2, p. 523) or some minor variation of this.
Other sources give them various quarterly coats: Or and Gules, Or and Sable but the Brit Dict of Arms has not yet got to ‘Quarters’. Brian Timms shows the former as on Glover’s Roll of c. 1252 for a William de Say, indexed as B29 in Cooke’s version of this roll..
