He was first son of Sir Guy Bryan of Tor Bryan, Devon and of Castle Walways, Pembs.

He had two more sons: Sir Wm & Philip and a dau. Margaret, all of whom died sp.
Sir Wm may have m. Joan FitzAlan and he then dsp. on 22 Sep 1395 and she may be the one who then m. Sir Wm Echingham. See CP II, pp. 361-2, note (h).
