Notes for Roger de Lacy
Rebelled against William Rufes, banished in 1096 and lands given to brother Hugh.

He had a son and heir, Gilbert; Sanders in 1961 says Gilbert was not the son of Roger, but of an Emma de Lacy by an unknown husband.  K-R in DP says that Gilbert was the son of Roger and that an Emma was the mother of both Roger and Hugh.  There was also an Emma who was sister of Roger and Hugh and whose son Gilbert inherited the Irish lands.

See W E Wightman "The Lacy Family in England and Normandy 1066-1194", pub OUP in 1966.
