GeneralCP says she was a wife, the first.
Notes for N N
Scots Peerage vol 4, p. 141 says that Alan’s first wife was “a lady unknown, said to be a daughter of Reginald, Lord of the Isles”.

Kevin Bradford in “N.N. de Crevequor, wife of Alan Fitz Roland of Galloway” on 24th Sept 2005 has produced evidence that shows that this first wife of Alan of Galloway was a sister of a John of Chester and a daughter of a Richard de Crevequer.  This statement led to a long correspondence, none of which as yet (10th Oct 2005) has shaken the evidence that Kevin produced.

It certainly seems fairly certain that her father was not Reginald, Lord of the Isles.

“The Paradox of Medieval Scotland 1093-1286” is a project by the Universities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and King’s, London and consists of a database on all people in Scotland in this time period.  It is currently (Feb 2011) at http://www.poms.ac.uk/.

Anyhow it says “He [Alan] was married three times: first, to a daughter of Roger de Lacy, constable of Chester, which produced a daughter, Helen, who married Roger de Quincy, earl of Winchester (d.1264);...”.

At some time in the future, I hope to admit this to this lady’s (N.N.’s) record.  Meanwhile I am delighted to see this development.
