Notes for William de Breteuil
He also had an illegitimate son Eustace, d. c. 1136, who married Juliane, one of Henry I's illegitimate daughters; they had 2 sons and 2 daus.
At William’s death, the honour of Breteuil passed to Eustace but in 1119 Eustace had joined a rebellion against Henry I and most of Breteuil was taken from him and given to his first cousin Ralph de Gael. Eustace was however allowed to keep Paci in Breteuil, Normandy. Eventually all the Breteuil estates reverted to the Leicester earls, heirs of Ralph.
