Notes for William Bourchier
CP Conundrum: In the Eu article (V, 176) it says that this William was "yr br. of Bartholomew, Lord Bourghchier".
In the Bourchier article (II, 247) it says that Bartholomew was "only s. and h.".
Later in the Bourchier article (II, 248) it says that William was the "yr. s. of Robert, 1st lord Bourchier abovenamed".
My vote is on the last, with two entries in favour and one against. On 18 Feb 2002, I asked on soc.gen.med if anyone had any better idea.
Dave Utzinger then Brad Verity and finally, on 9 Jun 2002, Chris Phillips produced evidence to confirm my surmise with this:
The IPM at Chelmsford, Essex on 6th July 1433 says that Henry Bourchier, count of Eue, is kinsman of Elizabeth Bourchier [who had dsp] and next heir, being the son of William, the son of William, the brother of John, the father of Bartholomew, the father of the aforesaid Elizabeth.
