Notes for "Sir" John Papillon Twisden
Philip Papillon, a close friend of his father, Sir Roger T, was his godfather. He succeeded to Philip Papillon's property on the latter's death on 15 April 1762, giving him an income of £400 to £450 a year.
Lived beyond his means at Bradbourne and had to sell land for the marriage portion for his niece, Rebecca, the daughter of Sir Roger his brother. The portion was £10,000!
