Notes for Eleanor Powys
LDS Vital records:
On 9 March 1814, in Clun Shropshire, a James Powys was christened, mother Elinor Powys, father not entered. Might this be her? There are two other candidates for this Elinor.
On 25 Jan 1823 also in Clun, Shropshire, an Elizabeth Powys was born to John Powys and Betsy. There is also an Elizabeth who appears in the 1881 census in Rickmansworth, born in Shropshire.
On 10 November 1844, again in Clun Shropshire, a Mary Powys was born to John Powys and Jane. I think these three births must be relations, somehow.
According to Burke’s Peerage of 1885 they had one daughter, Ada Eleanor, probably born in Scotland.
