FreeBMD has a death of an Edward Powys in Cheadle district:

Surname First name(s) Age District Vol Page
Deaths Mar 1851   (98%)
Powys         Edward         Cheadle      17     35

The Cheadle district includes the parish of Cheddleton of which he was (seemingly inherited) perpetual curate, so my strong positive guess is that it is he.

Powys, Edward (1814-1830)

Looks like we have one or two matters in error, notably his parish!

In 1841 he (or rather an ‘Eward’ Powys) was a clergyman in Cheadle, aged 50 and not born in the county.

In 1818 he was summarily cut out of his father’s will.  Why, I do not know.
