From Burke (and thus of limited reliability): m. (1) Elizabeth Langley, (2) Susannah Sneyd, (3) Dorothy Lister and only he and the first wife had issue, a daughter, as yet unnamed.

Was he the Henry Powys at St John's, Oxford, matric 1735?

Or was he the lord of the manor of Stepleton?  From ancestry.com (TFPL, Sep 2004):

However the Warwick Record office has this document in its collection titled “Powys of Berwick, Shropshire”:

“Elizabeth Powys (nee Langley), niece of Sir Thomas Cotton of Eardley, Staffs. and wife of Henry Powys: draft jointure concerning Underhill Hall in Smethcott, Salop; Moat Farm in Stepleton, Salop, a messuage and lands in Coleham, Shrewsbury and messuages in Merivall in Shrewsbury.”

This needs to be obtained.
