In the 1901 census he was living at the vicarage, Meanwood, Chapel Allerton, Yorks with his wife and five children plus a niece, Kathleen Margaret Lacebeam who was an undergraduate at Girton College, Cambridge aged 25 and born in Chester. He was 50 and born in Bloomsbury, London.
His household had in addition three servants and a nurse.
