He was probably the father of Margaret who married Henry Grey who was in line for the earldom of Kent but dvp in 1545. Their marriage settlement was dated 20 June 1538. Vol XIV of CP does not clarify which Oliver St John was margaret's father. See CP VII, 170 and Leice vis'n of 1619, pub 1870, p. 139.
