There aiso an Alexander Trotter on FreeBMD who died in Q3 of 1842 in Warwick district, vol 16, p. 374 but I have my suspicions that this is not the man that lived in Dreghorn, Scotland.
I am fairly certain that this Alexander is he who was involved in the scams of banking treasury millions in his name and keeping the interest. Alexander was Paymaster of the Navy.
