Notes for Henry I Berkeley Lord Berkeley
Born posthumously 9 weeks and four days after his father's death; his godfather was H VIII, hence his name.
Had issue. m. (2) Jane Stanhope but no further issue.
Smyth names him Henry I, lord Berkeley and calls him "Henry the harmless, or posthumous Henry".
He regained the core Berkeley estates on the death of Edward VI. Q Mary in fact gave them to him two years before he was 21, as he should have remained in ward until then.
