AAG refers us to “cf Burke's peerage, ROSE of Rayners, Bt. for this family.”  The Rose of Rayners articles do not start until c.1800.  IN Burke’s Commoners there is an article on a Rose of Abingdon (vol 4, p. 221) which does have entries fo before 1700 but none of these correspond with this Thomas Rose.
