Burke adds in a footnote:
“William Goldsborough was eldest son of Nicholas Goldsborough and Katherine Hedges his wife, dau; of Robert Hedges of Kingsdown, Stratton St Margaret’s Wilts, and niece of Sir William Hedges, Knt, who was first cousin to Sir Charles Hedges, Secretary of State to King William and Queen Anne. Robert Hedges of Macroom Castle, co Cork, who d. in June 1840, was of the same family.
