She wrote in 1988: "I have lots of cousins in the North & South". But I do not know her maiden name let alone anything of her origins. TFPL, 30.1.98
TFPL. Jul 2007: I have been informed that her maiden name is Dixon but there are too many such on FreeBMD births to begin to guess which might be her.
TFPL, Jan 2008: She has just died and I was told that she was 91. This is the only Phoebe Dixon birth on FreeBMD in England from Jan 1916 to Dec 1918:

Having found that birth, this FreeBMD marriage looks interesting:

Though the other half of the marriage, Myers the wife, is not yet recorded on FreeBMD. Arthur Dixon would have been around in the 1901 census and very probably also N. N. Myers, his wife. How about this:

It seems the above is rubbish! Her son Reg reports that she was born on 10th Oct 1916 at Windlestone, Bishop Auckland but FreeBMD does not have any entries yet for this quarter for any Dixons and that she was christened Phoebe Mawson Dixon.
