Notes for Hon (?) Amias Charles Orde-Powlett
Some family record say he was 2nd baron but this has to be rubbish.  But he was known as "Hon" indicating some relationship to some peer.

From CP it is evident he was a younger son of the younger son of the 1st baron.  While his brother succeeded to the barony, his father dvf so was never baron.  So I wonder if Amias was actually entitled to call himself "Hon"; possibly not...

In 1881 census he was "Honble Magistrate Deputy Lt".

Might he be a second son of the 3rd baron?  This baron had married a Letitia Crawford and Amias' daughter had Letitia as a forename.  No. 3rd baron was his elder, by 10 yrs, brother.

His household in 1881 was three daughters and nine servants, including a 20 year old governess and a school room maid.

In 1881 he was living in Thorney Hall, Spennithorne.  In 1960 I remember visiting this as it was in possession of my uncle Stafford, son of Flossie.  Did the Honble have no sons?
