Notes for Geoffroi de Porhoet Vicomte de Porhoet
Eyton’s Antiquities of Shropshire share the error of the College of Arms in identifying this man with the Vicomte of Rohan (see Blazon Notes).

He is said also to have had a son Joscelin who inherited the Porhoet viscountcy - but I can find no trustworthy record for this.
Arms Generally notes for Geoffroi de Porhoet Vicomte de Porhoet
Rohan = Gules, ten mascles, three, three, three and one.

College of Arms has him down as Viscount de Rohan, and having married an heiress daughter of a duke of Brittany, both wrongly.  It was his younger brother Alain that had the Rohan viscountcy.  And Geoffroi married a daughter of Alan IV duke of Brittany, but she was not heir as her brother Conan Crassus inherited the title and had issue.  The C of A then showed that we quartered the famous Brittany arms of ‘Ermine’, quite wrong.

The latest information that I’ve found is that the Porhoet arms strongly resemble those of Rohan, as in Armorial Général.  See the Notes ‘Armorial Blazon’ and ‘Blazon source’.
