Arms Generally notes for Joan Brewer
Her daughter Anastasia was heir to her mother, Joan, but not to her father, William (III).  As such Joan brought in a quarter of her father’s arms, William (III) Brewer.

But to show that her daughter was not heir to her father, but also to acknowledge his paternity, his arms are shown in a canton on her mother’s arms and then that combination carried through as a full quartering to all Anastasia’s heirs.
