Notes for Sir Thomas de Clare Lord of Thomond
Note that CP Vol VIV thought he was NOT a son of Richard de Clare, 5th earl of Gloucester.

However later examination has led to the conclusion that he was such a son.  In 1284 he was described as the brother of the earl of Gloucester.  See Chris Phillip's site on CP Errors.

Thomond is in Connaught, Ireland.

Moor in his ‘Kts of Ed I’ says he was granted the marriage of Margaret, widow of Henry de Borghull.  But Moor also says that Thos’ widow was Juliana.  He says he was dead by 2 Nov 1291
