Notes for Morgan Williams
DNB: Morgan Williams was a Welshman from Glamorganshire who married Katherine, the elder sister of Thomas Cromwell, and appears in the records of the manor of Wimbledon as an ale-brewer and innkeeper residing at Putney.
Burke's Extinct Baronetcies, for Kemeys, has Morgan as the grandson of Margarter Kemeys and Ievan ap Morgan. Margaret Kemeys was dau of Jevan Kemeys who was the son of Jenkin Kemys of Began who m. Orisley dau of Morgan ap Llewelyn.
In Mark Noble’s “Memoirs of the protectorate House of Cromwell”, pub 1808, there is a genealogy going from Glothian, lord of Powys, c. 1066, to Morgan Williams via 15 generations. This was signed by Raphe Brook, Yorke Herault (so it must be true).
