In J A Busfeild's Source Genealogy volumes there are these abstracts of deeds:

29 Aug 1705: Sarah Surridge, widow, by Deed gave her personal Estate unto her children in equal shares.
This was probably immediately before her second marriage to James Priestley.

Mar 19 1708: James Priestley of Shelf, Clothyer, "& Sarah now his wife" by Indre [Indenture] of this date, covenant with Joshua Waddington & others to levy a Fyne of Lands &c in Shelf, then in the sd James P's occupation.

24 Sep 1723: Conveyance of Property at Shelf to James Priestley of Shelf, Yeoman, from which Deed it appears he was then the husband of Sarah Widow of John Surridge of Shelf, Yeoman, deceased, & dau. of John Hanson dec'd - whose inheritance the property purchased had formerly been. By this Deed Jas Priestley purchased from John & Thos Surridge, Children of his wife Sarah by her former husband.

17 April 1733, [copied from the deed transcript of 1748, below] Recites a deed dated 17th April 1733 between James Priestley deceased [by 1748] & the sd [said] Mary Priestley his then Wife but theretofore widow of Nathan Dixon, the Elder, of Oldfield, in the parish of Keighley, Yeoman, of the one part and Nicholas Dixon eldest Son of the said Nathan, of the other part. - By this Deed James Priestley & Mary his wife, released her right to Dower out of her late husband's lands - in consideration of an annual Rent of £5..12..6.

17 Aug 1738 - Indre [Indenture] bet James Priestley the Elder of Shelf yeoman & Mary his Wife & Joseph Priestley of Shelf Yeoman & Grace his Wife. the said Joseph being one of his Sons, to whom by deed dated July 4th 1738, he had conveyed his property in Shelf & Claydon.

4 July 1739 - Joseph Priestley of Northowram, Yeoman, in conson [consideration] of £30 granted to his father Jas Priestley (above named) An Annuity of £10 issuing out of property at Shelf called "Longshawfoot".

April 25 1747 - Copy Will of James Priestley of Shelf, yeoman, in which he devised Estates in the parish of Halifax to his three Sones James, Joseph & Jonathan, in feu. - Proved at York.

Aug 6 1748 - Deed bet. Mary Priestley Widow of James Priestley late of Shelf, Yeoman, dece'd, of the one part and James Priestley of Shelf, Yeoman, Eldest Son and Heir of the said Jas Priestley, of the other part -

- Recites a deed dated 17th April 1733 between James Priestley deceased [by 1748] & the sd [said] Mary Priestley his then Wife but theretofore widow of Nathan Dixon, the Elder, of Oldfield, in the parish of Keighley, Yeoman, of the one part and Nicholas Dixon eldest Son of the said Nathan, of the other part. - By this Deed James Priestley & Mary his wife, released her right to Dower out of her late husband's lands - in consideration of an annual Rent of £5..12..6.
- Reciting that James Priestley her husband died seized of Lands, at Mountain, in Shelf, & by his will gave them to his son James Priestley (party thereto) - And also died possessed of Lands called Spring Hall in Shelf which he devised to his son Jonathan Priestley.
By this deed Mary P. the widow releases her dower etc.

Feb 10 & 11 1769: Joseph Priestley the elder of Northowram yeoman conveyed to Joseph Priestley the yor [younger] of Halifax, gent, son & heir apparent of the sd Joseph Priestley the elder - All his estates in Shelf, Clayton & Northowram, in the County of York, in conson [consideration] of natural love & affection.

Aug 18 1775: Joseph Priestley of Bradford, Gentn, took assignment of term affecting premises in Shelf, which by indres [indentures] of Lc & Rel: [Let and Relet?] dated 29th and 30th June last had been conveyed to him in consen [consideration] of £1725.

The above Joseph Priestley was the father of Captn Jno Priestley of Stott Hill in Bradford. [And Capt John was the father of Mary Elizabeth the wife of Johnson Busfeild.]
