Whereas Reginald Cecil Lybbe Powys-Lybbe of
Hardwick House in the Parish of Whitchurch and County
of Oxford Gentleman eldest son and heir of William
Reginald Lybbe Powys-Lybbe, son and heir of Philip Lybbe
Powys-Lybbe late of Hardwick House aforesaid, Esquire,
both deceased, hath by his Petition humble represented
unto Us


THAT the Petitioner's Grandfather the said Philip
Lybbe Powys-Lybbe was the eldest son and heir of Henry
Philip Powys eldest son and heir of Philip Lybbe Powys
son and heir of Philip Lybbe Powys all of Hardwick House
aforesaid who was the eldest son and heir of Philip Powys
sometime of Hardwick House, Esquire, and of Isabella
his wife only child and heir of Richard Lybbe of
Hardwick


Reginald Cecil Lybbe Powys-Lybbe, Gentleman,


Licence that he and his issue and the other issue
of his father William Reginald Lybbe Powys-Lybbe
may bear the Arms of Lybbe quarterly with those
of his and their own family.

Hardwick House aforesaid, Esquire:

THAT by Royal Licence bearing date the eighteenth day
of February One thousand eight hundred and sixty three
the petitioner's said Grandfather and his issue were
authorized to take and use the surname of Lybbe in
addition to and after that of Powys

THAT the Petitioner being in possession of the
Hardwick Estates formerly the inheritance of the said
Richard Lybbe and his Ancestors, and being desirous
from motives of regard to that family of bearing the
Armorial Ensigns of Lybbe quarterly with those of Powys

THE Petitioner therefore most humbly prays Our
Royal Licence and Authority that he and his issue and the
other issue of his father the said William Reginald Lybbe
Powys-Lybbe may bear the Arms of Lybbe quarterly with
those of his and their own family:

KNOW YE that We of Our Princely Grace and Special
Favour have given and granted and do by these Presents
give and grant unto the Petitioner the said Reginald
Cecil Lybbe Powys-Lybbe Our Royal Licence and Authority
that he and his issue and the other issue of his father
the said William Reginald Lybbe Powys-Lybbe may bear
the Arms of Lybbe quarterly with those of his and their
own family : the said Arms being first duly exemplified
according to the Laws of Arms and recorded in Our College
of

OUR Will and Pleasure therefore is that you Henry,
Duke of Norfolk, to whom the cognizance of matters of
this nature doth properly belong do require and command
that this Our Concession and Declaration be recorded in
Our College of Arms to the end that Our Officers of Arms
and all others upon occasion may take full notice and
have knowledge thereof:
