This is easy. Garter knights are still being created, there are people
whose job it is to keep the records of the Order. These are kept
up-to-date; occasionally a book is published with the current list of all
knights to date.
The most recent book is that by Grace Holmes, "The Order of the Garter, its Knights and Stall Plates," first published in 1984 by St George's Chapel, Windsor. |
